Zombie Pub Crawl 2023: Thanking our sponsors and planning for ZPC 2024.

Men and women dressed up at an information table for a halloween event.

A $10 wristband was the admission price for a ghoulish, spine-tingling evening of undead (but safe) revelry during the 2023 edition of the Zombie Pub Crawl throughout downtown Columbia on October 27. With 23 restaurants and bars providing exclusive food and drink specials to local zombies, the night featured macabre attire and shuffling to a fro from restaurants and pubs.

The event received amazing support with 475 wristbands sold. It was the first Zombie Pub Crawl since that crazy time three years ago; we had our sights set higher, but since we’re talking about zombies, dare we mention what happened in 2020? You know, the p-a-n-d-e-m … nah. The total raised was $5,250, which is less than past ZPCs, but this was a rebuilding year, after all. And that means the Woodhaven team has already upped its game in anticipation and expectation for next year. We’ll rely on our broad community of reliable and passionate supporters to help us meet these goals: double the number of wristbands sold, increase the number and value of spectacular prizes, and have even more sponsors.

Heads-up: You don’t have to wait until next year to become a sponsor. Zombie Pub Crawl will have a variety of sponsorship levels and creative ways for local businesses and individuals to support and be part of ZPC-2024. Contact Jes Baldwin today at (573) 876-7327 or jbaldwin@woodhaventeam.org.

All proceeds from the event go into Woodhaven programs and directly benefit the men and women who receive life-changing and life-affirming services.

As we recap the 2023 ZPC, let’s ask the Zombie Pub Crawl sponsors to take a bow! The alcohol sponsors were Breakthru Beverage Group, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Malibu, and Olmeca Tequila. Maude Vintage was the costume contest sponsor and Vahalla’s Gate was the Undead Sponsor. The District allowed the Woodhaven ZPC team to use its conference room for the event box office.

Here’s a toast and cheers to the participating bars: On The Rocks, Broadway Brewery on 9th, 9th Street Public House, DogMaster Distillery, The Shot Bar, Shiloh Bar & Grill, Eastside Tavern, The Quarry, Harpo’s Bar & Grill, Trops Downtown, Shakespeare’s Pizza, Son of a Gun, Gunter Hans, The Roof, Room 38, Heidelberg, Billiards, Gumby’s Pizza, Klik’s, McNally’s, The Blue Note, and Rose Music Hall.
And here’s a grateful tip of the cap to UR Ride Taxi for offering discounts with proof of wristband purchase. It certainly takes a village to provide safe, enjoyable ways for our community of supporters to have a memorable, meaningful experience. In addition, MK Lush Salon gave the undead a makeover by providing makeup sessions for only $10.

Check out our ZPC page for 2024 updates so you’ll be ready to “crawl” through some of the spookiest bars and restaurants in town to help the undead come to life again to achieve Woodhaven’s mission to provide a wide range of supports and job coaching for adults with developmental disabilities and neurodivergent youth.
