At the heart of our organization, we enhance lives, respect individuality, provide quality opportunities for choice, and promote community membership. Each year at Woodhaven the autumn season brings a variety of opportunities for us to live out that mission through joyful moments. Some of the ways we love to spread joy is through our Trunk or Treat, Direct Support Professionals (DSP) Week, and Gift Card Drive.
The Columbia Community: Trunk or Treat
The men and women in Woodhaven’s residential program were excited to host a Trunk or Treat on Monday, October 30 in the Woodhaven parking lot. We had over 20 vans decorated and stocked with candy for visitors. There was also face painting and an appearance by the Columbia Supremes. Our individuals were all smiles being able to spread joy this spooky season for the children in the Columbia community.

In September, we took the opportunity to express our deep appreciation for our incredible Direct Support Professionals. Their unwavering commitment to the well-being and happiness of our residents is truly inspiring. Our Woodhaven community would not be what it is today without these selfless individuals who show up each day to help better the lives of our individuals. We celebrated them with a spirit week filled with prizes and a delicious lunch from Mr. Murphy’s Stuffed Potatoes food truck.
Our Individuals: Gift Card Drive
Throughout the year, we accept donations of Walmart gift cards for our individuals. Our goal is that each person we support would receive a gift card for their birthday and for the holidays. In the fall, we focus on gathering donations for the holiday gift cards. These allow the men and women at Woodhaven to be able to have gifts for themselves for the holidays or be able to get gifts for their friends and family. Learn more and participate today.
