Welcoming Joy Sweeney: A New Era of Leadership at Woodhaven

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Joy Sweeney as our new CEO. With this transition, our Woodhaven team anticipates a fresh chapter of growth and visionary leadership. Joy brings a wealth of expertise and experience to her new role, aligning seamlessly with our core values and mission.

Joy Sweeney has earned her Doctoral degree in Organization and Management from Capella University and a post-master’s certification in Education, an MBA from American Intercontinental University, and an Undergraduate degree in Business Administration.

Joy’s impressive background encompasses significant roles such as Deputy Director of Training, Technical Assistance, and Outreach at CADCA, CEO/Executive Director of the Council for Drug Free Youth (CDFY), and Chairperson of Missouri KidsFirst. Her commitment to creating positive change is further demonstrated through her tenure as Treasurer of Tobacco Free Missouri, as well as her current position on the Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Board. Joy’s dedication to education is exemplified by her service on the Jefferson City Public School Board, where she notably served as President for one year.

In addition to her organizational engagement, Joy’s entrepreneurial spirit shines through her ownership and successful operation of a small business over a span of two decades. Her extensive expertise extends to her dynamic presentations on prevention and behavioral health topics at conferences throughout the nation.
