Spring 2026 Class Schedule

Therapeutic Recreation CLASSES ($500)

Mindful Movement (Monday) 11:30am - 12:30pm

Experience connecting with yourself through breathing, movement, and meditation. Founded in the original philosophies of Yoga, this class will help you bring balance to your life: physically, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually. Come prepared with a yoga mat, water bottle, and an open mind as we explore the present moment together. When we give ourselves enough space, anything is possible. Let’s begin. 

Wellness in Nature (Tuesday) 11:30am - 12:30pm

Join us for a walking class at a local park! Every week we will meet to walk and enjoy nature with other students. There will be a wellness topic and meditation to expand our awareness and get comfortable being in nature. The range of walks will vary.

Self-Defense (Tuesday) 1pm - 2pm

Use your self-defense skills to give BOB, the punching dummy a good workout, while you get one too! Become proficient in blocking, kicking and striking. Increase your awareness and ability to defend yourself. A fun, fast action class!

Wii Sports (Tuesday) 2:30pm - 3:30pm and 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Wii are all better together! Have fun and get some exercise too! Introducing an action-packed Wii class. Wii will play a variety of classic Wii games—Tennis, Archery, Bowling, Baseball. Wii can play ’em all in this fun-filled class, but only if Wii sign up!

Become a Chess Master! (Tuesday) 3:30pm - 4:30pm

You can do it! It’s never too late to learn how to play chess, the most popular game in the world! Learning the rules of chess is fun & easy. Rule your Kingdom, protect your Queen, increase your strategic skills and make new friends as you battle to conquer your opponent in this classic board game.

Group Drumming (Wednesday) 11:30am - 12:30pm

Expect more than a drumming class where you’ll learn about hand drums and percussion, practice new rhythms and techniques, and build musical skills. Did you know that drumming can also help you reduce stress, connect with others, communicate and be heard, tap into positive emotions, give your brain a full workout, and most of all – it’s fun!? We will play the drums and share in some fun and positive vibes while we work to strengthen our social and emotional wellness. Join us!

Fantastic Fibers (WednesDAY) 2pm - 3pm

Join Access Arts Fiber studio staff members for afternoons of crafting! In this introduction level course, students will learn the basics of hand sewing, mending, and needle felting. Whether you are learning a new skill or wanting to perfect your own, all skill sets are welcome. This entry-level class is perfect for beginners or experienced crafters wanting to share their skills.

Tech/Career/Misc ($400)

T-Shirt Design Entrepreneur (Monday) 1:30pm - 2:30pm

Are you creative? Do you want to start your own business? Do you love t-shirts? In this fun and creative class, we will learn how to make various t-shirt designs in Canva. Then we will learn how to put these designs on t-shirts. From design and production to customer service and profits, we will learn the basics of entrepreneurship and running our very own t-shirt business!

Organize Your Life (Monday) 2:30pm -3:30pm

Life is full of daily tasks, activities, routines, and commitments.  Do you sometimes find it hard to start a project or know which tasks to prioritize? Do you struggle with estimating time, staying focused, and completing what you started? Do you get overwhelmed and sometimes give up before you even try? In this class, you will learn a variety of strategies to help you plan and organize, manage your time and emotions, and adapt to unexpected changes so you can complete everything you want to do at home, school, work, and in all areas of your life. 

Driving Simulator - Adult (Monday) 3:30pm-4:30pm | HIGH SCHOOL (Tuesday) 5:30PM-6:30PM

Would you like to learn and practice your driving skills in a safe environment before venturing out into traffic? This class will include going over the basics as well as working on the motor automatic stage of driving to gain skills, comfortability, and confidence in your driving ability. Using driving simulators, students will learn to practice for skill and confidence.

Stay Safe: Your Guide to Handling the Unexpected (Monday) 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Life can be unpredictable, but you can be ready! In this class, you’ll learn how to stay calm and take action in emergencies. From accidents to severe weather, you’ll know what to do. Plus, we’ll practice how to talk to police and other helpers. Feel confident and safe wherever you are!

3D Printing 101: Your First Steps into 3D Creation! (Monday) 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Ever wondered how 3D printers work? In this class, you’ll learn the basics of 3D printing, from how the machines operate to printing your first object. It’s a hands-on adventure into the future of making things!

Leadership 101 (Wednesday) 12:30pm - 2pm

If you’re ready to gain confidence in your life and step into the next level of adulthood, this leadership class is for you! You will learn the importance of self-awareness—understanding your own strengths, areas of improvement, and your impact on others. You will practice taking initiative, leading by example, admitting mistakes, and taking responsibility for your actions. You will gain experience understanding and connecting with others, working together towards a common goal, and advocating for yourself and others. You will also practice handling conflict and learn the importance of empathy and enthusiasm. 

Intro to Podcasting (Wednesday) 2pm - 3pm

Podcasting technology has given us all the ability to create and express ourselves. Join this fun, creative class as we create our very own podcast studio and express ourselves. Have your thoughts, feelings, and ideas come to life as we make new friends and great (recorded) memories!

Video game design (Wednesday) 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Want to make your very own video game? Join this class, and you can! In this class students will use Scratch to learn coding skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, unleash creativity, and build their very own fun and challenging video games!

The Life Hacker Lab: Troubleshooting Your World (Wednesday) 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Ever feel stuck waiting for someone to tell you what to do? Welcome to The Life Hacker Lab! This is a hands-on class where you become a professional life troubleshooter. In this class, we solve the “glitches” of everyday life. Whether your computer won’t start, you can’t find your favorite shirt, or you’re stuck on a confusing instruction at work—you’ll learn the secret skills to figure it out yourself. We’ll use detective tricks, tech hacks, and “Street Smarts” to move from being stuck to being a boss. Stop waiting. Start solving. Join the Lab.

In Topics & Tea we’ll discuss weekly topics with our beverage of choice, encouraging introspection and vulnerability in a relaxed social environment. Get together with all of the people you know (and some you don’t) and participate in this unique opportunity to build your social skills, share your experiences, and make friends along the way.

In Topics & Tea we’ll discuss weekly topics with our beverage of choice, encouraging introspection and vulnerability in a relaxed social environment. Get together with all of the people you know (and some you don’t) and participate in this unique opportunity to build your social skills, share your experiences, and make friends along the way.

Minecraft: Surviving Together! Online (Tuesday) 6pm - 7pm

In this class we will focus on creating a world together. Perfect for all the Minecraft lovers who want to practice their teamwork and social skills while having an adventure along the way! The plan is to start out at the very beginning and work our way up, seeing what we can create as a group.

Developing & Strengthening Relationships in Adulthood (Wednesday) 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Now that you are an adult, do you ever struggle to make and keep friendships? You’re not alone in this group as we will share our experiences in the current school/life/workforce. We will learn how to manage adult experiences, learn new ways of managing conflict, and gain lasting relationships with our peers through in-person socialization. Maybe you will find someone with a common interest and become the best of pals in class!

PEERS Online for Teens - Online (Thursday) 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Learn social skills related to making and keeping friends, developing relationships and managing conflict and rejection. PEERS is an evidence-based program for teaching the social skills necessary to develop and maintain meaningful relationships with others. The class uses a structured group format that includes instructive lessons and role-playing demonstrations.

Express Yourself! ONLINE (Thursday) 3:30pm - 4:30pm

In this welcoming, laid-back, and fun class we will learn to discover, see, and  value our uniqueness. We will express ourselves in  various ways: perhaps by  sharing stories, music, ideas, interests, as well as through the art of conversation. In addition to gaining confidence in expressing ourselves, we will practice listening, giving space and encouragement to others, asking questions, and celebrating the uniqueness of our classmates. Express Yourself is about self-confidence, empathy, collaboration, and social skills essential to living a full, fun, and happy life!

To set up an enrollment meeting, please reach out to Jamie at jbolyard@woodhaventeam.org.

Spring Encircle Technology classes at Woodhaven will begin February 2, 2026. Initial Interview is required for new students.

New students can schedule a video or phone meeting to go over application materials. If the student is accepted, another meeting will be scheduled to decide on which classes to enroll.

Students must be 12 years of age or older, attend class weekly, and maintain respectful behavior during class.

NO PERSON SHALL BE DENIED ADMISSION BECAUSE OF RACE, RELIGION, NATIONAL ORIGIN, GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, OR VETERAN STATUS.

Several funding options are available for students, including Boone County Children’s Services Fund.
