Summer 2026 Class Schedule

Therapeutic Recreation CLASSES ($350)

Growing Together: Food & Flowers (Monday) 11:30am- 12:30pm

In this class, we will work together to start and maintain different plants. We will learn the steps to plant seeds, keep them alive, and use tools to keep our plants healthy. By the end of this course, you will be able to grow your own food and flowers at home with total independence.

Mindful Movement (Monday) 1:30pm - 2:30pm

Experience connecting with yourself through breathing, movement, and meditation. Founded in the original philosophies of Yoga, this class will help you bring balance to your life: physically, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually. Come prepared with a yoga mat, water bottle, and an open mind as we explore the present moment together. When we give ourselves enough space, anything is possible. Let’s begin.

Wellness in Nature (Tuesday) 11:30am - 12:30pm

Join us for a walking class at a local park! Every week we will meet to walk and enjoy nature with other students. There will be a wellness topic and meditation to expand our awareness and get comfortable being in nature. The range of walks will vary.

Wii Sports (Tuesday) 1pm - 2pm

Wii are all better together! Have fun and get some exercise too! Introducing an action-packed Wii class. Wii will play a variety of classic Wii games—Tennis, Archery, Bowling, Baseball. Wii can play ’em all in this fun-filled class, but only if Wii sign up!

Become a Chess Master! (Tuesday) 2pm - 3pm

You can do it! It’s never too late to learn how to play chess, the most popular game in the world! Learning the rules of chess is fun & easy. Rule your Kingdom, protect your Queen, increase your strategic skills and make new friends as you battle to conquer your opponent in this classic board game.

Self-Defense (Tuesday) 4pm - 5pm

Use your self-defense skills to give BOB, the punching dummy a good workout, while you get one too! Become proficient in blocking, kicking and striking. Increase your awareness and ability to defend yourself. A fun, fast action class!

Group Drumming (Wednesday) 11:30am - 12:30pm

Expect more than a drumming class where you’ll learn about hand drums and percussion, practice new rhythms and techniques, and build musical skills. Did you know that drumming can also help you reduce stress, connect with others, communicate and be heard, tap into positive emotions, give your brain a full workout, and most of all – it’s fun!? We will play the drums and share in some fun and positive vibes while we work to strengthen our social and emotional wellness. Join us!

Pickleball (Wednesday) 1pm - 2pm

Pickleball is a paddle sport where tennis, badminton, and ping pong come together to make a fun and exciting game for 2 or 4 players. Appropriate for players of all ages and skill levels. Increase your aerobic abilities, hand eye coordination, make new friends and have a great time playing this exciting game outdoors at a local park!

Crafter-noon (Wednesday) 2pm - 3pm

Join us for afternoons of crafting! Students will participate in a DIY (do it yourself) craft each meet up. Whether you are learning a new skill or wanting to perfect your own, all skill sets are welcome. This entry-level class is perfect for beginners or experienced crafters wanting to share their skills. Students can expect to work with mixed media drawing, painting, recycled materials, and more!

Disc Golf (Wednesday) 2pm - 3pm

Learn to play the fun outdoor sport of disc golf! Disc golf involves throwing a special frisbee or flying disc from a tee into a chain linked basket in as few throws as you can. Already know how to play? Then test and improve your skills and have a great time outside playing this fast-growing sport! Let’s rattle those chains! Class will be held at a local park.

Tech/Career/Misc ($300)

T-Shirt Design Entrepreneur (Monday) 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Are you creative? Do you want to start your own business? Do you love t-shirts? In this fun and creative class, we will learn how to make various t-shirt designs in Canva. Then we will learn how to put these designs on t-shirts. From design and production to customer service and profits, we will learn the basics of entrepreneurship and running our very own t-shirt business!

Driving Simulator - (Monday) High School is 4:30pm - 5:30pm; Adult - 5:30pm-6:30pm)

Would you like to learn and practice your driving skills in a safe environment before venturing out into traffic? This class will include going over the basics as well as working on the motor automatic stage of driving to gain skills, comfortability, and confidence in your driving ability. Using driving simulators, students will learn to practice for skill and confidence.

3D Printing 101: Your First Steps into 3D Creation! (Tuesday) 2pm - 3pm

Ever wondered how 3D printers work? In this class, you’ll learn the basics of 3D printing, from how the machines operate to printing your first object. It’s a hands-on adventure into the future of making things!

Intro to Podcasting (Tuesday) 3pm - 4pm

Podcasting technology has given us all the ability to create and express ourselves. Join this fun, creative class as we create our very own podcast studio and express ourselves. Have your thoughts, feelings, and ideas come to life as we make new friends and great (recorded) memories!

Stay Safe: Your Guide to Handling the Unexpected (Tuesday) 3pm - 4pm

Life can be unpredictable, but you can be ready! In this class, you’ll learn how to stay calm and take action in emergencies. From accidents to severe weather, you’ll know what to do. Plus, we’ll practice how to talk to police and other helpers. Feel confident and safe wherever you are!

3D Printing Pro: Level Up Your Skills! (Tuesday) 4pm - 5pm

Take your 3D printing to the next level! In this class, you’ll dive deeper into the world of 3D printing, learning advanced techniques to make your creations even better. Get ready to impress with your printing prowess! Completion of 3D Printing 101 required.

Video game design (Tuesday) 5pm - 6pm

Want to make your very own video game? Join this class, and you can! In this class students will use Scratch to learn coding skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, unleash creativity, and build their very own fun and challenging video games!

Social Skills Classes ($350)

Key to Successful Friendships (Monday) 12:30pm - 1:30pm

We all want to have good friends and also be a good friend. In this engaging and fun class, we will practice starting conversations, maintaining conversations, and other social skills necessary to build meaningful relationships. Let’s hang out together, have fun, and make friends!

Topics & Tea (Monday) 2:30pm - 3:30pm

In Topics & Tea we’ll discuss weekly topics with our beverage of choice, encouraging introspection and vulnerability in a relaxed social environment. Get together with all of the people you know (and some you don’t) and participate in this unique opportunity to build your social skills, share your experiences, and make friends along the way.

Minecraft: Surviving Together! Online (Tuesday) 6pm - 7pm

In this class we will focus on creating a world together. Perfect for all the Minecraft lovers who want to practice their teamwork and social skills while having an adventure along the way! The plan is to start out at the very beginning and work our way up, seeing what we can create as a group.

Life Skills Workshop (Wednesday) 3:30pm - 4:30pm

This is an interactive class designed to empower students to develop essential life skills through better communication. We will focus on all types of communication, including self-advocacy and social interaction to help students confidently navigate everyday situations.

Workplace Social Skills (Wednesday) 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Communicating effectively with others is essential to excel in any job. Learn the social skills you need to be a great “team player” and how to provide excellent customer service. This class will incorporate practice with real situations to help students gain confidence in their skills.

Song & Dance Express (Wednesday) 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Love to sing or dance and want the whole world to know about it? Don’t have any experience and a little shy movin’ and groovin’? This is for you! We are going to get out of our comfort zones and spend some time connecting with music. We will also collaborate on dance choreography and making our own music video! All levels of experience are welcome.

Express Yourself! ONLINE (Thursday) 3:30pm - 4:30pm

In this welcoming, laid-back, and fun class we will learn to discover, see, and  value our uniqueness. We will express ourselves in  various ways: perhaps by  sharing stories, music, ideas, interests, as well as through the art of conversation. In addition to gaining confidence in expressing ourselves, we will practice listening, giving space and encouragement to others, asking questions, and celebrating the uniqueness of our classmates. Express Yourself is about self-confidence, empathy, collaboration, and social skills essential to living a full, fun, and happy life!

To set up an enrollment meeting, please reach out to Jamie at jbolyard@woodhaventeam.org.

Summer Encircle Technology classes at Woodhaven will begin June 1, 2026. Initial Interview is required for new students.

New students can schedule a video or phone meeting to go over application materials. If the student is accepted, another meeting will be scheduled to decide on which classes to enroll.

Students must be 12 years of age or older, attend class weekly, and maintain respectful behavior during class.

NO PERSON SHALL BE DENIED ADMISSION BECAUSE OF RACE, RELIGION, NATIONAL ORIGIN, GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, OR VETERAN STATUS.

Several funding options are available for students, including Boone County Children’s Services Fund.
